The Menu So, well. My weekend passed pretty quickly. Saturday I spent most of my afternoon looking on websites with a list of notes in my lap, my mum sitting beside me picking out christmas presents. Already. I am that organised, most will be delivered before November even starts! I have finished (mostly) my sister's presents, although if I see any other things I may buy them but the majority is done. If I don't find anything else it won't make a difference. I've already started getting some bits for Mark and some ideas for my mum. So I can concentrate on getting the presents I want and not rush around at the last minute. Don't get me wrong I love going around the shops and buying presents from there too and this is still possible. Just the bulk of the shopping will already be done and I fell much happier knowing I have started. December will come round in a flash and I want to be prepared and buy early. Sunday I emptied my wardrobe and 7 drawers and got rid of 5 black bin bags of clothes and old jackets and 2 plastic bags of old underwear. I had far too much and all of the things I have thrown away are way too big. Size 20 most of them and I now fit in a size 14 so they look completely stupid. Today I booked my last week of holiday. So I am now spending the week of 4th - 8th December with Mark, adding the finishing touches to my christmas presents and hopefully having a relaxing week. This will hopefully help make November pass quickly, it's something to look forward to. Really I only have to work 6 weeks, including this week, then it is my week off. I go back to work on Monday 11th and work for 2 weeks before having 2 weeks off for christmas. I return to work on 8th January. December will fly by. Today we received the menu for the works christmas party. Ok so I won't be going and I'm really disappointed, there are things on there I would actually eat: Starters: Main Course: Deserts: Obviously there would be plenty of wine going around the tables too. All for the company to pick up the bill. I think I would have the Tomato Soup, Roast Turkey and either Lemon Tart or Chocolate Cheesecake. Mmmm. Actually tonight I am going to ask Mark if he is off on the 22nd December. He probably won't be but it would be a nice idea if he was to actually go to the party and have a room in the hotel all on the company. Nothing like exploiting the firms expenses! I know everyone is going to be drunk and will rarely notice me, plus staying in a hotel will be lovely, it's something I've never done and it would be extra special as I'd be with Mark. It would also be our first night together away from our houses. A real luxury. How silly does that make me sound? So the plan is to ask Mark tonight what his December rota is like. If he is available see if he would like to go out to this meal/drinking affair and have a night away. If not it doesn't matter, if he agrees though I will have to see if I can slot it. Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem as 3 of the people who were going are not going to be there; 2 are on holiday and 1 is leaving the company. We'll see how it goes. |
