First interview It seems my luck may be starting to pay off. The meeting with the recruitment agency went well this morning. I filled in the dozen or so forms about my bank details, employment history and what have you. Felt like I was signing my life away, for the life of me I can't remember what half of them were for. Then I had the meeting with one of the temporary recruiters due to the permanent positions recruiter being off ill. I explained what I was looking for and waited for the dreaded question: where I used to work. As soon as I said the company name you could see the recruiters ear perk up, she'd heard of it, she'd heard about the boss leaving. I explained as politely as I could that I didn't know what happened with him, I was made redundant and looking for work and as far as I was concerned I was there to talk about me and not him. Thankfully she took this well and understood what I meant. The jobs I'd contacted the agency about where for roles within the same field as my old job, and I was deemed experienced enough to try for an interview. My CV would be sent over this afternoon, and it was. I'm looking for jobs to do with admin/estimating for floors and stairs, I know roughly what it is all about and 18 months experience is more than enough to take with me for an administrative role. When arriving back from this meeting I had a phone call from another recruitment agency trying to set up a meeting with me to apply for the same jobs as the I was already going for. I explained about the first agency but still a meeting was set up, so on Monday at 9.30am I will be meeting them. This afternoon I got a call from the first agency saying the company would like an interview with me for an Estimators Administrator role. Excellent. First interview of the job, of mmy entire job search and I'm feeling good. Not getting my hopes up but happy enough to have got an interview. Once I've got this out of the way, and even if I don't get the job, I'll be back in to the swing of looking for jobs. So 11.30am on Monday I will be an interview with the company, hoping it's is an easy enough area to get to, that the people are nice and that I won't be out of a job for too long. Wish me luck. |
