All about me So a few days and I haven't update. What is the world coming to? To be honest the weekend was a little boring and although I wasn't doing anything I just never found it to Diaryland either. Sunday the family went out for a meal and I was quite happy with what I ate, or didn't eat more like. I had no starter and no dessert only scampi and chips for my main meal. Yummy. Plus I didn't eat to the extent I was about to be sick just because I could, I ate until I was comfortable. I knew when enough was enough and left it there. Well done me. Monday morning I helped my mum clean our huge big wardrobe mirrors. They are massive. My arms and shoulders hurt so much from reaching up high but it was a fair bit of exercise on my part. In the evening I had a telephone interview with that job I applied for at the beginning of the year. It went well, I had to do a role-play for answering the phone to see about my phone manner. Would have been fine, but the pen I made notes with ran out as she said some important bits I had to recite back to her. Still, seemed to go fine. The woman is a sales person theere who basically needs a helping hand with all the admin work as she is out of the office a lot - Dominican Republic, due to the nature of the business, which is selling properties out there - so spending 50% of her time in England doing menial admin tasks isn't something she wants to do. I needn't be surprised if I don't hear for a little while as she is back over there this Thursday for another week, after only just coming back and landing late Sunday night! Today I had an interview with a job I'd applied for on Friday from the paper. My God! This firm was nice and small but the people were well over 50 years old, all of them. Plus the office and equipment was from way-back-in-the-day. They haven't got Word or Excel and are still using DOS. I think they thought I was over-qualified for the job, which I know I am, so the basically were hinting and wanring me away from the job for something more progressive and fitting for me. Okay, I get the hint. I won't be taking the job, there was just no where to move on or to get experience or anything. It obviously wasn't for me but at least I gave it a go. Following the interview I did my god deed for the day. As I was walking back to my car a couple of streets away from the firm an ambulance flew past from behind me and put it's siren on when it was level with me. An elderly woman was walking a few feet ahead of me too. When the siren was started it made us both jump and unfortunately the old lady tripped and fell as she was going down the curb. I think she had twisted her ankle pretty badly and grazed her shins and legs. I helped her to her feet and she said she wanted to go to the doctors but couldn't be botehred to walk back in to town so I offered her a lift, which sh accepted, helped her to the doctors and in to the waiting room. Her legs did look pretty bad so I'm glad she went there in the end. She looked ever so pleased and thankful. It made me feel good all day too. Hope she is feeling better now. This afternoon was my fortnightly trip to the Job Centre. Same old, same old. Sign a few papers to declare I'm still not working and that was that. I should hopefully be getting some money in this Friday as well as the remaining money I'm owed from the old company, want my P45 too so I'm hoping that'll turn up with my payslip. So that's me up to date. I haven't really got up to much. tomorrow morning I am having my hair cut, nothing drastic just a trim and tidy up and in the afternoon another meeting with another recruitment agency although I'm really feeling that I can't be bothered with them. Nevermind. |
