Getting to know you Seems as I haven't updated for nearly a week I thought it was best to do so now. Plus I was thinking I might give a little update on who's who in my office. So sorry if it's a little boring, not! First things first though, my weekend. It was spent with Mark at his house. Friday night we stayed here and on Saturday morning drove to his house and done a little clothes shopping on the way. I managed to buy 3 tops, a pair of jeans, a pair of trainers and a pair of summery ballet pumps. Very nice. Mark also got some new trousers and trainers so he's happy too. Saturday night we had a barbecue and then started to watch a film. Unfortunately I fell asleep 20 minutes in to it and didn't see a thing. I woke up as Mark was getting up and sorting out the DVD. I then fell asleep again! I think the early mornings last week really got to me. I eventually ended up sleeping for 12 hours straight with only a few interruptions at the beginning of my very long nap! Sunday we just had a lazy day and a Sunday lunch Mark style before coming back to my house. This weekend Mark is staying here. We should hopefully be going out for a meal to celebrate my Dads birthday last week. We also hope to clean both our cars and mine needs a good clean on the inside too, the footwells are awful. With Mark I get some man power to put the wax on as my little weedy arms just couldn't cope! Work. Let's see. Last week went quicker than I thought it would, although I still didn't really do much. I have played around a little bit and have started typing up the hand written notes I have for a few things. Luckily I'm taking my time on these and wasting away a few hours. But today I did manage to do some work. The morning was spent in the technical side of our company. They deal with all the originals and copies of CCTV, enhancing and making stills of the pictures. After lunch I was given some binding to do which passed a lot of time. There was 5 books to make up and each had 26 photos in, so making the holes and binding them made the afternoon pass pretty darn quick. I now also have a Work Box where I get to keep all the files I'm currently working on altogether. All files and exhibits have to be kept in our exhibits room for security reasons. Now on to who I work with as I know you are all dying to hear about them! Basically there are 4 admin staff and I'm one of them; then there is the Office Manager, Receptionist and Part-Time Assistant. They are all really nice people who are willing to help with anything. The Office Manager, let's call her J, is around 48 years old and currently thinks she is going through the menopause. (Told you!) She is the one that helps me out the most and tells me what to do. I share my office with her and the Part-Time Assistant. P-T Assistant, or we will know her as K, is the daughter of one of the original partners of the company. Although he has retired recently he is still playing a large part and anyway her uncle is the other partner who started the company. So she gets special treatment. Currently she only works term time and spend the school holidays with her 2 girls, aged 11 and 15. K is around 41 years old and is as dippy as a blonde can get. She constantly asks questions and can get a bit tiring but I have been told she is one of the nicest women I'll ever meet. Then there is the Receptionist, or as we know her, B. She is the one I first thought I wouldn't get along with but have been proved wrong. She's 20 years old and is as skinny as a rake but constantly eats. I don't know where she puts it all! Although she sits out in reception she is still within our little group. I seem to have fitted in really well and become part of the admin team easily. Hopefully it will stay this way. |
