Christmas Do (Part 2) About time for an update, yes? Let me see. Since last week I have said YES to the christmas do for work and somehow I have managed to get Mark to go with me. Now I'm caught up in the girliness of dresses, shoes and other ball gown paraphernalia that the girls at work are currently excited about. I'm not completely thrilled like you would expect girls to be, but I keep getting moved from computer to computer to look at dresses and masks. Mark is to wear the complete black tie ensemble - dinner jacket, trousers, bowtie, dress shirt and cummerbund/waistcoat. At the moment he is veering towards the waistcoat whilst I'm trying to push him to the cummerbund. We have agreed when we are next around the department stores and wedding sections (which is soon) he'll try on both and different jackets to see which Then for me - a dress, shoes, clutch bag and possible jewellery shopping are all on the horizon. The girls at work have really started to look after me, we are supposed to be going out shopping one weekend to a couple of evening dress shops. Something I'm both liking and hating the idea of. I can see no dresses looking good and all dragging along the floor on my 5ft 2" body. Don't think I'm going to go for that gorgeous blue dress I linked to in a previous entry. Mainly because I'll have to buy it before I get to try it on. You never know I might find something like that in another shop. I'm really hoping this masked ball will be good and not a let down after all the excitement it has created in the office. The girls just can't stop looking for things on the computer and it's all they ever talk about. Menu for the evening is:
I shall be going for:
Mark on the otherhand looks to be going for, although it's not final, and sounds disgusting to me:
So that is it. I'm not sure if I made the right decision by saying yes. It was a bit of a hasty answer to be honest. I was getting pestered so I just said "Yes! I'll go!" to shut them up, not thinking they'd take my word for it. But having spoke to Mark last night and realising it's actually the weekend that starts our week off in December, he agreed to come with me. Knowing that, I feel much more comfortable and relaxed and although not completely at ease with the decision either. What if they don't like him? What if they slag us off whilst I'm off from work the next week? There's nothing I can do about it I suppose. |
